If you look on the Internet you are going to notice that most of the advice that is offered about buying gifts is tailored for men that are buying items for women. This happens due to a belief that it is much harder to shop for a woman. The truth is that it is also quite hard to shop for a man. After a few years of marriage it is really common that you would end up not knowing what to buy for your husband. It is actually quite often noticed that spouses do not even buy gifts for themselves anymore. One of the biggest fads nowadays is sporting a state-of-the-art mobile phone, preferably one with a touch screen and 3G-connectivity. But what many people fail to consider in this rat race of owning the latest Smartphone is whether they actually need so many features or not? Today’s high-end smart phones are equipped with so many capabilities that the average user does not even utilize half of them properly. So they end up paying for many features that they are never going to use.

The best example is that of camera mobile phones. Most of the mobile phones come equipped with a camera so users can take pictures on the go whenever they find a moment worth preserving. However, I always have a digital camera with me wherever I go so I can capture all the fun moments with my friends and family in high definition. So I would buy a mobile phone with an average camera resolution because the phone camera will be used very seldom.

There are also music phones available by companies like Nokia and Sony Ericsson for people so they can have no need of carrying their mp3 players with them anymore. With their extended memory and superior audio experience, these phones are ideal for people who listen to music while jogging, riding on the bus and whenever they have time. But buying a music phone is impractical if you only listen to music once in a while. You just end up paying extra for memory and audio speakers that you are never going to use.
